Parish Pastoral Council
The objective of the Parish Pastoral Council is to promote within St Michael’s Parish, Dorrington, the Church’s mission to live and communicate the love and values of Christ in our world and, in so doing, to enrich the quality of parish life.
The Parish Pastoral Council consists of the parish priest and a number of parishioners. The Council meets on a Thursday evening, every 4 to 6 weeks throughout the year. Vacancies on the Council are filled through a process of recommendation, advertised in the Parish Newsletter.
A major focus of the Council is to develop, in consultation with the parish community, a Parish Pastoral Plan, and then to implement that Plan. In seeking to put into effect the strategies and initiatives outlined in the Plan the Council utilises whenever possible the knowledge and expertise of the members of the many parish groups that have been established in specific areas of parish activity. The Council itself is not a management or administrative body.
