Procedures for Funerals:
Preparing for a funeral for the deceased loved one is an emotional experience and unique for every family. The desirability of celebrating a funeral in the Parish Church or at the cemetery chapel should not be underestimated. Our Parish Priest will guide you through the process of preparing the liturgy. However the following will be of assistance when the funeral is to be celebrated by our Parish Priest.

- In the first instance, the Parish Priest should be contacted by the Funeral Director to ascertain that the Priest and Church are available
- A meeting will need to be scheduled with the Parish Priest, relevant family members and
the Sacristan/s to discuss options for the funeral service - All funerals commence at 9am on the mornings when weekday Mass is held
- All funerals preceded at 08:45 am by Receiving the Body Rite inside church foyer followed by
the family proceeding after the coffin to ‘reserved’ rows at front of the church. The Rosary is then recited until Mass / Prayer Service commences at 09:00 am - All readings are to be from Scripture. Click HERE for options in Word or HERE for PDF
- All music must be sacred / liturgical. Click HERE for recorded hymn options
- Slide show (if applicable) to be limited to 3 minutes. Accompanying music must be a hymn. Slide show to be compatible with inserting into a PowerPoint presentation
- Christian symbols placed on the coffin are to be appropriately Christian
- In the interest of time, the welcome speech is limited to one minute and one (1) eulogy is permitted (maximum of 10 minutes)
- The booklet must have the prayers retained in full as this is the script used by the Priest during the service. The booklet must be vetted and approved by the Parish Priest PRIOR to printing

- Existing Mass flowers, selected recorded hymns and PowerPoint slides and funeral booklet template are provided
- Musicians are to provide their own equipment and are NOT to adjust any equipment in the area
- Hall hire is available dependent upon existing bookings, however catering is not available
