Update: Cyclone Alfred - Weekend Masses are on if safe to travel.-------------------------------
To All at St Michael's Parish ——-------------------------- Good afternoon, Thanks be to God that the cyclone was not as bad as it could have been however many are still adversely affected. Our prayers for the Redlands, Gold Coast, northern NSW and Moreton regions and beyond who are still bearing the brunt of its effects. Regarding Masses: they are on as planned noting that Archbishop Mark has dispensed parishioners from the Sunday obligation. Our highest priority is being safe. If it is flooded, could flood, or you are frail of fearful, ..forget it. Stay home. The one constant of this weather system has been its inconsistency. If it is raining heavily, windy or at all dangerous ...please stay at home. Again, subject to unforeseen changes to weather and conditions, Frs John and Tony will celebrate Masses, as planned this weekend. We will happily celebrate with whoever comes, always considering the weather and road conditions. ...be assured: that we also pray for all at home. And God will be very pleased if you spend time with the Mass readings at home and join in prayer that way.. or Mass online. First Sunday in Lent Mass readings: https://universalis.com/20250309/mass.htm We are so appreciative of all of our civic leaders, SES, emergency personnel, hospitals, and the Qld Police Service who remain compassionate, constant and tirelessly serving the community. We pray: Gracious God, We pray for all affected and for those serving them. Grace them all with your Spirit in ways that are needed. Amen Prayers continue that flooding is minimal. Prayers also for yourselves. Be sensible and safe, Blessings, Dcn Peter
