It has been suggested that we all go by car. We would like to prepare a car pool. All car owners who intend to join their Pilgrimage please put your name and phone number on the new list and also the number of seats you have free for other passengers.

Those who need transport please sign your name and phone number on the special list.

The time is short now so we need all those who are intending to be on the Pilgrimage to please fill up these lists this weekend, thank you.

Build Community Together in Christ, On the weekend of the 9/10 October our Parish will be holding the Annual Catholic Mission World Mission appeal, focused on Timor-Leste, which suffered of oppression and is one of the poorest countries in the world. The Church plays a major role in bringing Peace and Rebuilding the country. Join faithful parishioners in Timor-Leste to share that commitment. Pray for and support Catholic Mission’s worldwide missionary network that reaches out to people in 160 countries. PLEASE COME PREPARED ON 9/10 OCTOBER AND GIVE GENEROUSLY TOWARDS CHRIST’S MISSION.

Community day @ The Gabba, Help hit HOMELESSNESS FOR SIX To help lift Awareness of homelessness in our community you are all encouraged to come along and / or support this very special event on Friday 22 October …Queensland vs Sri Lanka Day/night 50 overs starts 2.30pm. Thanks to the support of Queensland Cricket, Brisbane City Council, Translink and Volunteering QLD who are partnering with Spiritus to make this day happen. Every $ you donate will go to the homelessness services provided by Spiritus helping those who are home less and at risk in our own neighbourhoods.

Sunday morning Mass has changed back to 8.00 am for Summer, commencing on the 3rd of October 2010.
St Michael’s parents and grandparents — gather, pray, reflect Parents and grandparents in the parish are invited to gather in friendship to focus on marriage and family life through prayer and reflection. This four week program, facilitated by the JPII Centre for Family and Life, will run on Wednesday evenings, 7 pm – 8:30 pm from 13 Oct until 3 Nov 2010. Fr Pat has offered the Presbytery as a suitable venue. Interested couples can leave their details with Fr Pat.

Church Cleaning Roster , New Rosters are available for collection at the back of the Church.

Volunteers Needed, Men and women and young people are required to volunteer for the church cleaning roster. This would require persons to be available approximately every ten weeks and involves a period of an hour and a half when rostered. Please contact Phil Apelt on 3366 2935 if you are available to share your talents. This appeal went out three weeks ago and to date, no volunteers have signed up – come on and do your bit!!

Archbishop to lead pilgrimage to Rome for Blessed Mary MacKillop’s Canonisation, Brisbane archdiocese has greeted the news of the canonisation of Blessed Mary MacKillop in October by planning a number of events both here and in Rome. One key event will see Archbishop John Bathersby lead an Archdiocesan pilgrimage to Rome for the canonisation on October 17th. Anyone who wants to participate in the archdiocesan pilgrimage can contact Harvest Pilgrimages directly on 1300 467 663 and ask for the group supervisor Patricia Gonzalez.

Archbishop’s Annual Pastoral Message to Young People, The 2010 Pastoral message to young people focuses on a central message that “God is Love” (1 John 4:16) and that through prayer we can connect with this message and live lives of love and service. This message is posted at the back of the Church for all to read.
