NOVEMBER—MONTH OF ALL SOULS During the month of November, we traditionally remember and celebrate the lives of those for whom life has changed and the door of death has closed behind them. We mourn the poignancy of their passing and, at the same time, we celebrate their entry into a new and fuller life with God who has called them home. Each Mass during the month of November will be offered for the deceased members and friends of our Parish family. If you would like your loved ones included in the Masses for November, please use the envelopes which you will find on the table at the front door of the Church.
A ‘Remembrance Book’ where you can record the names of your deceased loved ones has been placed at the foot of the Sanctuary.
BEREAVEMENT MASS Tuesday 13th November at 5.00 pm (No morning Mass) This Mass is for anyone who has lost a family member or friend in the past 12 months or for anyone who is grieving a loved one. Everyone is welcome to come to the Mass and light a candle in memory of their loved one.
Mass for the Deaf. Our last Auslan-Supported Mass at St Michael’s for 2018 will be held on Sunday 18 November at 8.30am. Everyone who would like to attend is invited to this special Mass, with morning tea afterwards. Please spread the word to friends and family. Enquiries to dorrington@bne.catholic.edu.au.
Help Vinnies and catch up with the Catholic Leader Did you know St Vincent de Paul looks after supply and sale of the Catholic Leader in our parish? For $2, you can help Vinnies and be informed of news from a Christian perspective.
SAFE GUARDING POLICY for children and vulnerable adults. This was introduced one year ago and information and training was provided for parishioners and volunteers. We are now reviewing our situation to continue to comply with Archdiocese policy. Over the next few months we will be providing more information and training and asking volunteers to provide us with information to ensure we have covered everyone. Thank you for your continued support. Please contact Marg or Lorna if there is anything you would like to talk about.
Advent and Christmas are fast approaching. Our parish has hosted some wonderful celebrations to mark the birth of Jesus in past years and we wish to make 2018 another year that attracts families and welcomes visitors to this celebration of renewal and hope. If you can assist in any way with ideas for the liturgy, playing music or organising the vigil mass please contact Chris and Fran.
