Objective

To promote within St Michael’s Parish, Dorrington, the Church’s mission to live and communicate the love and values of Christ in our world and, in so doing, to enrich the quality of parish life.

Membership

Fr Pat Doran, Carlton (Chair), Anne (Deputy Chair), Michelle, Judy, Janet, Debbie, Denis, John, John, Noreen.

The Council meets monthly, usually on the second Thursday of the month.

Activities

The major focus of the Council in 2009 has been to develop, in consultation with the parish community, a Parish Pastoral Plan for 2009 – 2012 and then to implement that Plan.

In seeking to put into effect the strategies and initiatives outlined in the Plan the Council seeks to utilise whenever possible the knowledge and expertise of the members of the many parish groups that have been established in specific areas of parish activity.

Additional needs

The Council currently has no need for additional assistance in the performance of its functions but as it becomes aware that assistance is required in the management and administration of the parish (or by any of the various active groups within the parish) it draws the need for that assistance to the attention of the parish community. The Council itself is not a management or administrative body.
